Physician Specialties

At IMEC, our extensive panel of esteemed evaluators represents a wide array of specialties to accommodate each independent medical evaluation.

All of our evaluators are board certified and credentialed to help put together all the pieces of the puzzle.

All of our physicians work with IMEC as a team to provide the best services and quality reports. They have all been credentialed in a process that verifies not only licensing, but board and medical community standings, if there are any legal actions pending or progressing, certifications, and continuing education requirements. All of our physicians are pre-negotiated and maintain a good medical standing.

Primary Specialties

Orthopaedic Surgery

The medical specialty of orthopedic surgery, also spelled “Orthopaedic,” is concerned with the evaluation, preservation, and restoration of the form and function of the spine and upper and lower extremities. Specifically, the body’s bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons.

Medical, surgical, and physical modalities may be used in orthopedic intervention. Independent medical examinations for orthopedic surgery are sometimes requested in conjunction with neurological IMEs.

An Orthopedic Surgeon may be involved in a variety of musculoskeletal problems, but the majority of independent medical examinations are required due to trauma or injury to the back or spine, hands, feet, knees, hips, shoulders, or elbows. IMEs for orthopedic surgery also look for pre-existing or degenerative changes in the cervical, thoracic, or lumbar spine. X-rays and MRIs are examples of diagnostic tools.

Neurosurgery

The medical field of neurosurgery focuses on the diagnosis and care of illnesses of the nervous system, including those that affect the brain, spinal cord, muscles, peripheral nerves, and autonomic nervous system as well as the blood vessels that connect these tissues. Independent medical examinations (IMEs) for neurosurgery are frequently requested along with those for orthopedic surgery.

Many conditions, including migraines, epilepsy, numbness, Parkinson’s disease, and loss of mobility or memory, can be helped by a neurosurgeon. The majority of independent medical tests for neurosurgery are necessary as a result of trauma or injury, which results in numbness or loss of sensation. An IME in neurosurgery can also be used to assess work-related or occupational diseases such as carpal tunnel syndrome as well.
